How You Can Help

Have you been inspired by The Butterfly Project?  Would you like to help?  You can!

There are a couple of ways you can help..

You can make butterflies or if you are in my local area (central Maryland) and own a business, you can contact me about leaving a basket of them in your business.

First, butterflies are very easy to make in either crochet or origami. Please stick to the basic instructions, although feel free to use any yarn or origami paper you like.  Do not attach any decorations such as beads.  The finished product should be no larger than 3-4″ across maximum.  Links to the instructions and tags are below at the bottom of this page.

There is a link to the tags at the bottom of this page.  Please print them exactly as they are, making no changes.  If your printer does not print on both sides, print page one, flip the printed pages over to run through the printer again and then print page two.  Use a heavier paper like card stock.  Punch holes in the tags where the x’s are, and use a length of yarn or ribbon about 7″ long to attach it to the butterfly.  Then, please pray for the people who receive your butterflies however you feel God is leading you.  Then, leave them where you feel they will be found easily by those who need them.  I have left mine in restaurants, stores and parks.

The second way to help is for those of you who own businesses here in the central Maryland area. Simply allow me to leave a small basket with butterflies (similar to the one pictured at the top of this page) in your place of business, and let me know when they are running low.  People who have been abused or still are being abused are in all walks of life, so any type of business is fine- restaurants, salons, lawyers’ offices, veterinarian hospitals…  If this interests you, please feel free to email me at CynthiaBaileyRug@aol.com so we can discuss it.

Whichever way you opt to support The Butterfly Project, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
